“Printing on clay”

Rachèle Riviere lives and works in Biot, on the French Riviera, few kilometers far from Vallauris.

Since 2002, in her work, she has been focusing on memory, time and identity, trying to establish a poetic link between these concerns.
She mainly uses printmaking, photography and ceramics to develop sculptures, installations and “books objects”.

She was selected and awarded in many international ceramic  biennales.

Her work is exhibited in museums and renowned galleries in Europe and in China.

The course will focus on printing on clay.

–  Impression techniques (relief & intaglio) on paper & earthenware clay (linocut, collagraph, rhodoides)
– Techniques of monotypes & mono print designs with colored glazes & metal oxides
–  Multiple technique charts using stencils, masking with latex, sponges, pears, typography ….
– Introduction on methods of alternative-type pictures, “Photo Lithography”
The project staff training : to make an artist book or personal diary in paperclay with the 2D or 3D technique.
