 “Carved pieces”

 

Marc Leuthold is an American artist. He lives and works in New York.

His pieces and mixed media installations create a dialogue between cultures, history, and the senses.

He has his works in major museum collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Brooklyn Museum, The Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Houston.

He has been invited to create art in numerous locations throughout the world.

He has taught art at Princeton University, Parsons School of Design in New York City and is currently Professor of Art at the State University of New York.

Leuthold is an elected lifetime member of the International Academy of Ceramics since 1999.

The topic of the course will focus on the realization of  carved pieces, its purpose to create landscapes, sensations, emotions and to give life to a basic slab …

If you wish, you can work on the wheel. The drying constraints will oblige us to a one time firing. Glazing is not possible. We will work with stoneware and porcelain.

The one-day course will focus on techniques for digging, carving on small objects.
