 ” Jewelry creation with stoneware”

Martha PACHON-RODRIGUEZ, was born in Colombia but lives and works in Italy.

She is a journalist and assistant to the editor for the Italian review “La Ceramica in Italia e nel mondo”.

She currently exhibits in all the important international venues where contemporary ceramics are featured.

Her work with colored clay is very elaborate and delicate.

After a brief presentation of the artist, her work and her techniques, we will move quickly to the practice and demonstrations.

Techniques will include : “Agatha”, “slab-building” and “Mishima”.

These techniques allow the ceramist to have a wide range of options both in the creation of jewelry and for the construction of sculptural pieces, furniture and design. They can also be applied to porcelain.

These techniques of colored clay  appeared between China and Japan and several centuries later, when they became famous,  they were used throughout Europe .

Stoneware with contrasting warm colors gives an exotic character and personality to the jewelry.

You can create these jewelries according to a draft already prepared in advance or after discussion and sketches on site.

At the end, the course will focus on finding ways to  assemble the pieces.
